Hello there!

My love of the visual arts began at a young age. My mother was also a photographer who documented the world around her. It was mainly her family life but those images are such a gift to me now that I am also a mother! As a first introduction here are a few favorite photos of my own family.

Who I am and where I began:

I took my first photography class in high school, spending my time snapping photos of friends and then exposing paper in a dark and quiet room. Seeing the these moments come to life was like scientific magic! When I started college I had a dream to become a photojournalist…but it was the early 2000s and reporters with camera phones were replacing photographers. Instead of giving up on my dreams, I pursued my art as a portrait and wedding photographer. TWELVE years and two children later, I am thrilled to be creating images for families that love each other and love photography.

I now photograph my own family on film. My husband actually put a hook up on the wall so that I always have a loaded camera at hand when the perfect moment needs to be captured.

What I love to pursue:

As an artist, I have found my true niche and passion: families, on film, in their favorite places. Home is at the heart of my business and of my artwork. The comfort of a warm cup of coffee, the deafening sound of children running through the hallways, the beauty of parents clipping a bouquet fresh from the garden.

Why I shoot film:

The bedrock of my journey as an artist has been film! Developing my own rolls and scanning my own negatives gives me such a sense of creativity that nothing else has.
I have found that I absolutely LOVE to photograph families on film. The softness, the slight imperfections, and the instant nostalgia all give me goosebumps.

If my passion and art spark something in you, I would love to start a conversation.
